“What makes artclub special to me is meeting people who share my interests, having stimulating, mind expanding and fun conversations, and learning lots with the guidance and excellent research by our two wonderful facilitators! Thank you so much Ruth and Kate for another fabulous year!” - Rosemary, 2010 and 2011 member
Melbourne art aficionados Ruth Bain and Kate Daw combine their visual art expertise and run ten stimulating, though-provoking sessions throughout the year at ACCA.
Using the incredible ACCA program as a starting point, our conversations range over many subjects in each 2.5 hour session, including philosophy, politics, literature and film (life, food, the world!) - all in relation to visual art practice.
The aim of artclub@acca is to uncover, discern and analyse the meanings of the art we encounter. We visit other local galleries and always include an interstate trip in our program. In 2012, artclub@acca will visit the Sydney Biennale.
With a choice of Thursday evenings (6.00pm – 8.30pm) or Saturday afternoon (2.30pm – 5.00pm) sessions, we encourage you to book now to secure a place. Numbers are strictly limited to 12 per session.
“I love artclub because I switch off from everything and think about art
for 2 hours every month. And I don't even have to speak if I don't want
to!! My contribution is welcome but it's optional. I can sit back and
just quietly consider the conversation in front of me after a long day at
work.” - Rebecca, 2011 member
