POSITION: Schools Education Coordinator

EFT: Full time

REPORTS TO: Public and Education Program Manager


POSITION PURPOSE


To develop and deliver high quality talks, workshops and education resources for students accessing ACCA’s schools education program; to generate growth of audiences for these programs and to assist with the delivery of public access programs.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Schools Education Program


• Plan and deliver ACCA’s education program for the secondary sector, and, when appropriate the primary sector.
• Deliver interpretative talks to school groups based on annual exhibition seasons and recent developments in contemporary art and linked to the schools’ curriculum
• Liaise with the Artistic Director about current and future exhibitions in order to plan talks and produce associated resource material.
• Coordinate the GO Program including liaison with target schools, coordination of bus services and management of bookings & invoices.
• Administer school bookings and upkeep of the educational diary
• Maintain online schools and teachers database
• Manage education mailouts and e-notifications
• Train and oversee any casual presenters delivering talks to school groups as needed
• Conduct regular program evaluation and monitoring to ensure ACCA’s Education program is responsive to Victorian curricula developments and DEECD initiatives and priorities



Student and teacher resources

• Organise teacher professional development programs
• Research and compile materials for teacher packs, resource table and Infocube
• Produce copy for education brochures and flyers including curriculum links
• Produce copy for teachers’ e-bulletin relating to forthcoming exhibitions
• Update education content on ACCA website


Other

• Undertake program evaluation and monitoring including up to date attendance figures and compile education statistics and reports for funding bodies and the Board as required
• Assist with the preparation of promotional and advertising materials as required
• Assist with the preparation of materials for grant applications and acquittals relating to Education programs as required
• Provide assistance with the set up and delivery of public and education program events and attend after hours events as required
• Liaise with funding partner, DEECD and attend meetings as required
• Professionally and positively represent ACCA’s programs within the arts and education sector
• Other duties as required by the Public & Education Program Manager



SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications and Experience

• Secondary art teaching qualification
• Minimum two years art education experience desirable
• Links to secondary and tertiary art teaching networks desirable
• Sound knowledge of curricula requirements and current issues of primary, secondary and tertiary education in Victoria
• Sound knowledge of art education theory and practice
• Computer skills (Mac, Office, In design, Excel, Internet and email)
