| ACCA commenced its commission program with the outstanding project Undertow by Susan Norrie and followed this with Greg Creek’s massive 30 meter Melbourne Desktop Drawing. John Nixon, another eminent Australian artist, has been invited to make a new work for exhibition in ACCA’s commission hall.
Nixon’s continued interest in art and life as manifest through a deliberate and on-going program of painting as an everyday activity and as a process of purist pursuit positions him as one of Australia’s most consistent minimalist modernists.
Nixon will make full use of the large commission hall to expand his EPW (Experimental Painting Workshop) and to evolve further permutations of this investigation into paintings which may be environments, objects, constructions, banners, found objects: ad infinitum.
