EDUCATION

All ACCA’s education activities are FREE.

Our aim is to make contemporary art accessible and interesting to a wide range of audiences. Schools, tertiary and community groups, as well as the general public can participate in a range of activities linked to exhibitions and involving contemporary art, artists and ideas.

ACCA’s education program provides:

  • Guided exhibition tours for secondary student groups linked to the school's curriculum
  • Introductory talks and classes by the education officer and curatorial staff for tertiary, adult and community groups
  • Regular floor talks by artists, curators and cultural commentators
  • Seminars and lectures exploring recent developments and key issues in contemporary culture
  • Education resources and interpretive materials including sound files of interviews with artists and curators
  • Artist-led workshops for schools groups through Arts Immersion - a joint initiative with our precinct partners, Chunky Move and the Malthouse Theatre
  • Free bus travel for schools in Melbourne’s western suburbs to attend ACCA education events through the GO WEST program
