SATURDAY 11 JUNE

Temporary Installation: Located on the exterior of one of Horsham’s most controversial buildings, the Horsham Post Office, Helen Johnson’s Brutalist Reintegration Project explores Horsham’s civic history through a temporary mural of local symbols and signs.

Special Event: Artist Nathan Gray and the Natimuk Brass Band entertain Saturday morning shoppers and stop traffic with their ground breaking musical performance, Rural Infrasonics.

Roaming Give Away: ACCA and Horsham Regional Art Gallery staff roam wild and free along the bustling main street of Horsham, handing out Agatha Gothe-Snape’s Rules of Nature balloons to onlookers and all takers. A cluster of balloons will be launched from a secret location among the hustle and bustle of Saturday morning trading. Watch out! Look up!

Sporting Performance: Artist Nathan Gray and the Natimuk Brass Band will provide pre-game entertainment to the Horsham United vs Warrack Eagles football game. Come and see Rural Infrasonics, and hear a functioning sculpture transform the band’s familiar tones into an electronic extravaganza.

Talk Event: ACCA curator Hannah Mathews and Horsham Gallery director Adam Harding will discuss the motivations and development of the ART#2 projects with participating artists Nathan Gray, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Helen Johnson, Laresa Kosloff & Andy Thomson, and Gabrielle de Vietri.

Performance Event: Artist Nathan Gray and the Natimuk Brass Band will perform Rural Infrasonics at the Natimuk Farmers’ Market. The early bird gets the worm, or at least the citing of a musical octopus.

EXTRA Special Sporting Event: Artists Laresa Kosloff & Andy Thomson, present The Green Text, an audio commentary that opens up the game of lawn bowls to interesting readings of psychology, philosophy and history. It’s lawn bowls, but not as you know it!
Come and loan an MP3 player, plug in and switch on to experience this audio performance, narrated by guest voices Julia Zemiro and Santo Cilauro, while watching a game of lawn bowls in the idyllic environs of the Natimuk Bowling Club.

Celebration Time: Joins us for ART#2’s closing drinks and the premiere of a new work created by Gabrielle de Vietri, which presents the hearts and minds of local youth in an entertaining and thought-provoking documentary. Video works from Nathan Gray and collaborators Laresa Kosloff & Andy Thomson will also be screened. Drinks and nibbles provided.

Screening Event: Gabrielle de Vietri, Philosophy for Kids 2009-
Visit Natimuk’s Goat Gallery to view 3 chapters of Gabrielle de Vietri’s ongoing series, Philosophy for Kids. Made with a group of young children, this work documents the responses of kids to life’s biggest questions: What is beauty? How do we live together? What is out there?

In-Print Event: Agatha Gothe-Snape, Headliners (Weeks 1–8) 2011
Sydney-based artist Agatha Gothe-Snape has devised a series of eight full-page print projects that will appear in Horsham’s local newspaper, The Weekly Advertiser. Look out for her bold, colourful announcements, which can be collected and combined into an artwork.
